There is an abundance of resources in the challenging offshore environment: oil, gas, minerals and renewable energy such as offshore wind, wave and tidal energy. Offshore structures and line connections need to be installed to harvest and transport that energy. Deltares supports offshore contractors by applying data driven tools, numerical models and physical facilities.

During this lunch lecture Ruben White will tell you about the work Deltares performed to conduct a seabed mobility analysis for the Dutch Continental Shelf. The results of this analysis will support the detection of obstacles, that might obstruct offshore activities, such as wind farm development, cable trenching and sand mining. During this lecture we will discuss the data driven approach that was developed and applied for this analysis.
