Excursion Energy Transition

Energy Transition? How does that look like in practice? The Didam Case

The department of Construction Management & Engineering invites all B.Sc. and M.Sc students for an excursion to Didam, where an urban district will be disconnected from natural gas supply, and re-supplied with an district heating energy infrastructure. This brings technical complexities, spatial planning challenges, and results in a planning puzzle that requires careful stakeholder management. Didam is one of the first project cases in the Netherlands, and its lessons learnt will then thus help making the energy transition elsewhere smoother and better. Developer/operator Qirion and contractor BAM Energie + Water host the event, and will be eager to learn us more about the challenges of this exciting project. You are welcome from 10am-1:30pm, and the programme includes a briefing, site visit, closure discussion and lunch. Transport to Didam can be arranged for.
