Time to celebrate good teaching!
A highlight of the week of education is the election of the UT Teacher of the Year 2026. The main goal of this election is to shine a light on inspirational and good teaching in higher education. During the Teacher of the Year award, three teachers will give an inspiring and enthusiastic lecture on the topic of societal or current changes within their field of teaching. Based on this lecture a jury and the audience vote on the winner of the UT Teacher of the Year award 2026, which will be given by rector magnificus Tom Veldkamp.

The three finalists at the Teacher of the Year 2026 award that you can expect to see are:
* Mohammadreza Farrokhnia,
* Bas Borsje,
* and Pim van ’t Hof.

The UT Teacher of the Year award of 2026 will take place during the week of education. The award ceremony will be held on the 11th of June from 14:00 till 16:30 in the Vrijhof Amphitheater. After the ceremony, all are invited for an after drink in the foyer of Vrijhof.
