How to deal with climate change in (sub)urban areas?
Managing pluvial flooding, drought and water quality concerns
In this lunch lecture Luuk Nieuwenhuis from Antea Group will talk about the challenges, opportunities and solutions linked to the multi-faceted problems climate change pose on the urban water system. For example, events like pluvial flooding and drought are expected to increase in duration and intensity. In order to deal with these events, municipalities have to adapt their public space. This calls for a change in policy, planning, budgeting and infrastructure. Through multiple real-world projects you will be introduced to the domain of urban water systems and how they are managed in practice.
