Project 1: Prinses Margriettunnel Restoration

In December 2022, a dramatic event unfolded at the Prinses Margriet tunnel in Friesland. One of the tunnel ramps unexpectedly lifted a few centimeters, leading to the closure of the entire highway. Picture over 10,000 strategically placed bags of sand within the tunnel to stabilize it. Now, after a year of relentless efforts, the tunnel is partially open to traffic. Witness the ongoing construction of new foundation piles and learn how engineering ingenuity triumphs over adversity.

Project 2: Heerenveen Sludge Dewatering Facility

The current sludge dewatering facility (SOI) has dutifully served its purpose but has now reached the end of its technical lifespan. Get an exclusive sneak peek into the future! A brand-new sludge dewatering building is rising, accompanied by two sludge silos, three SOTs, and a state-of-the-art odor treatment installation. Imagine the hum of machinery, the precision of engineering, and the promise of environmental sustainability. Plus, explore the separate control building—a hub of innovation and efficiency.

We will leave around 10:15 at the Achterhorst after which we will arive around 12:00 in Heereveen where we will get delicious lunch provided by Van Hattum en Blankevoort. 

Then we will visit the two projects after all this we will end with a drink and then we will return back towards Enschede. We will be back at Enschede around 19:00,
